Disasterology 101: A Chance To Win and Book Tour Details

Hey, guys!

July 19th is fast approaching and as of today I'm officially touring. Woot! It's the first time I do it and I'm ubber excited to share this experience with you all :-)

But first.

Do you want to read Disasterology 101? Have it marked as to-be-released? Maybe you're on the fence about it? Well, here's your chance to win a free copy and be one of its first readers. Just leave me a comment about any experiences you've had with obsessive compulsive disorder and/or germaphobia, personal or otherwise, and I'll choose two winners on Friday July 12th, 11:59 EST.

Looking forward to hearing from you all :-)

Bellow are the dates and sites I'll be stopping by. Join me to talk about the creating process, working with characters that aren't one hundred percent right in the head, giveaways, and we'll see what else! And if you want to read the first official review of Disasterology 101 and find out what Barb thought of it, please stop by  Live Your Life Buy The Book.

  1. Mercifully I've not had to deal with either of those beyond the occasional 'did I leave the oven/heating/hob on' moment...and I think most of us have those. Depression and anxiety are quite enough thanks!
Looking forward to reading this one - I saw the prologue on Goodreads and really enjoyed it :)

    1. I am obsessive about certain things, but not compulsive. I won't lose my bearings if I don't do them right away. I can only imagine the anguish OCD patients suffer every day :-(

Thanks for reading the excerpt. Hope you enjoy the book!

  2. Looking forward to reading Disasterology 101. I read the blurb and the review on LYLBTB.

My mom was OCD about cleaning the house. She'd vacuum 3 times a week and we weren't allowed to leave anything lying around. My mil is the total opposite. She has OCD Hoarding.

  3. I'm so excited not just for you but for me to finally get my hands on this book.

I have a relatively mild case of ocd but I occasionally still catch my husband watching me and shacking his head. Because unless food comes mixed together, I don't want it to touch and I eat food one at a time. I'll eat all the greenbeans in a soup and then move on to corn. I've learned not to be so obvious in public by knowing what to order.

    1. Thanks, Luta :-)

So you know your triggers and have learned to control them. That's amazing. It wasn't until after I started my research that I learned how distressing it can be for OCD people when they don't get to perform their rituals. I used to be flippant in my use of the word. "Oh, please, stop being OCD" was something I said a lot, but not anymore. Obsessions aren't as simple as they sound.

    2. It took a lot of inner exploring an the help of an amazing doctor to get where I am. It's all about control for me, growing up I had no control over anything but this. When you know why you do something it helps but I'll never be "healed" but I can be just as normal as everyone else ; )

  4. My brother's a pretty big germaphobe...once, as a joke, my mom and I bought him a box of toilet seat covers and wrapped it up to look like a big gift. We found his enthusiasm upon opening it to be a little disturbing...

  5. I seem to have a few OCD moments every day, but nothing too serious. All my canisters are lined up on my kitchen counter. When my husband makes coffee, he never places it back the right way. The word Coffee in on the front and he always puts it back where it's turned around and you can only see the letters "fee". I immediately turn it to where you can see all the letters. :D After my son uses his cologne the bottles are always turned around where you can't see the label. I have to straighten them up and put them in line. I know...a little crazy, but it bugs me until I'm able to correct things like that. I like for things to be in their proper place and in order. :)

Looking forward to reading your new book.

  6. This book went right on my TBR as soon as I saw the blurb. I've known since my d/d was 3 and we were told by a doctor that she has obsessive tendencies. She used to line her dolls up in a circle every day. Now as a teen she is becoming more obsessive, but the one "quirk" that brings me great joy is that she picks out my Keurig coffee flavor for me each afternoon at 1:00pm, makes it for me and immediately replaces it with a new k-cup in it's carousel, reorganizing it so they are all properly lined up by flavor.

  7. Like Lisa I think I have little OCD moments every day, nothing big, just little hints that the tendency is there. But it's the clocks at work that have me going lately. There are four of them on the wall, one with local time and three with times in other parts of the world. The minute hands are all off 2-3 minutes from each other, they aren't lined up horizontally, and the spacing between each of them is juuust a little different. And one clock, while the same style as the others, is a little bigger. It's an OCD nightmare.
The funny thing is, I'm in an engineering office and I am not the only one that has issues with the clocks. Engineers! Pretty sure at least one complaint has been filed with the facilities manager over them. :)
Very much looking forward to Disasterology 101 - I've been jonesing for it ever since I read the review at Live Your Life By The Book! :)
